SMARTIC triggered vacuum switch has been created as a result of years of research in electricity, automatic control, electronics and electrical engineering. The switch uses a modern concept of controlled switching, which is “swithcing different load types using special algorithms with preset dynamics for the main contacts of vacuum arc chutes”, to reduce switching surges affecting various loads such as transformers, electric motors, cable lines, capacitor banks etc. It also reduces inrush current when turning on transformers and capacitor banks, expands current range and increases commutation life of used vacuum arc chutes (VAC).

Triggered vacuum switch is used any kind of load commutation (inductive — electric motors, transformers, capacity — capacitor banks, etc.) in 10 kV power supply networks. SMARTIC consumers are mining facilities, oil pumping stations and refineries, metallurgical plants and other industrial enterprises, 10 kV public power supply networks, etc.
The switch has an separate drive for each phase and mounted microprocessor power supply unit, wich makes installation and maintenance of high-voltage equipment convenient.
