The Ghp M4C 400 main generator is a three-phase four-pole synchronous machine with rotor with protruding poles and brush system. It powers DC series motors via a rectifier system. The generator is cooled by a fan located on the drive side. The case is horisontal, set on legs (with two bearings) with IP21 protection; connection to the internal combustion engine is established with a coupling and a SAE O flange.

The Ghp 315 S4K auxiliary generator is a three-phase four-pole self-excited synchronous machine with a rotor with protruding poles. It is designed to power locomotive auxiliary receivers through inverters. The generator is cooled by a fan located on the drive side. The case is horisontal, set on legs (with two bearings) with IP21 protection and connected to the main generator using V-belts.
